Limitations and alternatives

Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility of RenewMap, there may be some limitations. Below is a description of known limitations, and potential solutions. Please contact us if you observe an issue not listed below.

Known limitations for RenewMap:

  1. WebGL map interaction: The map can be interacted with via a keyboard, however information on the map is not conveyed to assistive technologies because The map is built on MapLibre which uses WebGL, a web technology that is not inherently accessible. There are 2 alternative methods to navigate the data provided on the map: browsing via the side navigation, or searching for entries using the main search field.
